Wikipedia is a multilingual online encyclopedia created and maintained as an open collaboration project by a community of volunteer editors using a wiki-based editing system. It is the largest and most popular general reference work on the World Wide Web, and is one of the most popular websites ranked by Alexa as of January 2020. It features exclusively free content and no commercial ads, and is owned and supported by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization funded primarily through donations.

Why It's Fresh

It is very informative, especially with historical people and events such as the 9/11 attacks, World War II, Summer of Love, George Washington, Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Michael Jackson, etc.
It is very unbiased and can be useful for research purposes, except for some pages, like the one for the GamerGate movement. To be fair, this is because of the sheer lack of secondary sourcing for other viewpoints of the aforementioned movement.
Anyone with or without an account can edit, or make a page.
A lot of pictures for things, especially high quality ones.
There are a lot of admins, so there is a lower chance of Wikipedia’s vandalism unsupervised.
The essays are sometimes funny too, and also helpful.
It has a really nice style.
Their notability guidelines are fair, unlike other websites.
It inspired the creation of Wikia (Now FANDOM), a website where users can create their own wikis targeted in a specified topic. More websites similar to FANDOM are founded in turn.
Much like Super Mario Wiki and Encyclopedia SpongeBobia, it has deletion requests and requests for adminship.
And speaking of funny, they even had a official parody sites likes Uncyclopedia, which contains some hatreds, parodies, comedies, mocking ideas, adult humor, etc.

Bad Qualities

Because it's a wiki, it can easily be vandalized, thus, it's not a reliable source most of the time. However, with such a large community, vandalism gets noticed rather quickly.
There was an infamous incident, involving the then-contributor of the site Ryulong, and Crash Override Network.
While the vandalism edits can be funny, they makes it even less reliable, even though they get reverted quickly the vast majority of the time.
They claim to be uncensored, which can make it inappropriate for certain audiences.
